Some great news for people who prefer to listen to their books:  Steering to Freedom is now available as an audiobook, on Audible!

The book itself has been out for a while now, but it’s been a while since I’ve read it, so I’m revisiting it on audio. (I recommend listening at 1.2x speed.)  And I’m reminded how much I LOVE this story. Robert Smalls is one of my all-time heroes (and I have written about a lot of historical figures over the years) and the story of his escape and other adventures during the Civil War is absolutely thrilling.
