For a few more days, through May 30th, Chore Monkeys is playing at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival, in Charleston, SC.  The College of Charleston is remounting the production they staged this January for this city-wide festival that dovetails with the international Spoleto Festival. I was fortunate to get to travel to Charleston to work with director Joy Vandervortt-Cobb and the students in rehearsal and to get to see the show premiere, and they’re doing a tremendous job. The play offers both a fun and serious look at the gig economy, racial microaggressions, white privilege, and the joys and frustrations of assembling IKEA furniture.
