In addition to writing novels, plays, and screenplays, I also spend a lot of time growing things. I've been gardening for years, and, since moving to Boston in 2010, have been actively involved in urban gardening/farming. I spent two years as garden coordinator for the Cooper and Crite community gardens in Roxbury, and I also graduated from the Boston Natural Area Network's Master Urban Gardener program. In 2009, I helped start the 200 Foot Garden project in Brookline, MA, a commuter garden that has transformed an unused stretch of land into a small strip of beauty and abundance for the neighborhood. This year, I'm working on transforming sections of front and back yards around Brookline into vegetable gardens.

I'm actively looking for volunteers to help with and expand the 200 Foot Garden project, but I'm also interested in working with gardeners (and non-gardeners) on projects around growing food, locally. Email me at pat@gabridge.com, if you want to know more about my projects, or if you want to tell me more about your project (or want to hire me to do a garden project).
